  Most absurd thing I heard at the convention yesterday!

  brother lett was giving the last talk of the day about what they supposedly accomplished in 100 years.

  i was just waking up so im paraphrasing alittle(i was dosing off all day) anyways in his introduction he said.

  "there is more evidence to prove gods kingdom on the earth is a reality than wind,electricity and gravity is a reality on the earth".

  Yes it was John Mangnussun. He interviewed his wife yesterday. She was sure to mention that she was ten years old when she was baptized.

  lots of water wings were handed out near the baptism pool.

  I am seeing a professional right now to sort out what happened to me in this religion....she said something interesting. She said when people are mentally ill it almost always manifests itself through religion or religiosity. No matter what the religion they thump it.

  As far as child abuse goes...She said that she sees it in every religion. She particularly said The seventh Day Adventist have a ton of drama. I don't know what she means by drama. .... But she is a great therapist. She is very spiritual and not particularlily religious. Which suits me and my views.

  the baptism talk was insulting to anyone not baptized. Brother Mangnusun said, "now that you are baptized your prayers are more readily heard by Jehovah. Let me illustrate, a man loves children but certainly a father loves and protects his own children ahead of any others. So your prayers are especially heard."

  So unless you are baptized you are a red headed step child and prayers go to voice mail.

  How long have you known TTATT and continued to participate?

  i continue to be stunned by posters reporting on the convention, lamenting the convention, complaining about going in serve-us and meetings, and yet continuing to participate in these activities.. a simple question.

  how long have you done these things, fully knowing it is absolute bullshit?.

  i couldn't handle it for more than six months before i basically outed myself.

  With you knowing the reality of this org. You will be able to quietly guide your children through it. Most kids do not stay in, even with two believing parents. Keeping peace and your family intact may require marriage counseling. Try and see if a Pro can help reason the terms of your marriage In this regard.

  I tell my children every religion is rotten even this one. Listen for the good parts shrug off the crap. Also never ever become a publisher or get baptized and let them have lots of school chums/activities.

  my kids hear the silliness in talks...recently the CO came down on dancing, movies...ect ect He even said if your tired..."no excuse and we don't want to hear it" also something about going to the hall in your territory and not using the excuse that your kids need other witness kids. "No they don't need friends"

  Let them bury themselves with the guilt, hate, fear mongering. No one drinks from that well very long that is mentally fit.

  Never let them take your voice or choice by letting them have access to your name in a microphone. (Baptism or publishing)

  I won't allow a religion to steal my friends and family. I hold my head high and walk in like I own the place. I leave quick. My daughter listens to music with hidden ear phones. I read a book from my ipad. Then we treat ourselves to lunch and yoga.

  How often did you entertain the "Traveling Overseers", and did you regret it afterwards?

  i found taking the traveling overseers out for a meal, to be a waste of time.

  our literature regulary spoke of the upbuilding talk the local congregations received by entertaining our brothers.

  now some of the modern cos look at their telecommunication devices, talk of things not related to our ministry or phone it in.

  After the annual pioneer meeting a pioneer couple from my hall that never usually gave me the time of day invited me out with the DO and the CO our PO also came.

  I was young and a new mom but happy to be included. They (The Big shots)chose a very expensive restaurant and all added wine to the bill. They never even talked to me the entire time except when the DO heard I was a mom. He looked at me and just asked, "How old are you?" In an accusing tone. Well I was 24 but I did look teenage ish. Still he didn't mind that I was paying for his drinks before that. After I answered him he did not say a word back but went on talking to the more important people.

  After dinner there were no thanks yous of any kind. Not even a nice to meet you. They just left us with the bill. this was after a day of hearing talks on keeping your life simple and how materialism was the enemy of pioneers.

  What is the best for the child if father knows TTATT and mother is a devout JW?

  my situation is somewhat similar. My daughter agrees with me and has seen enough but my younger son is torn. My husband still takes him to meetings and service very other Saturday. My son hates it because it is "booooooring" but also believes the Bible says we have to be JW.

  I don't know if it is helping but I focus on Jehovah being a God of love when reason with him. Jehovah reads hearts sifts for the good. Also he does not want people to serve him out of fear, we make fun on the Catholics for that they we just change the term from HELL to Armeggedon. This guilt and fear crushes the love out of hearts.

  the second option is my choice just make sure he makes lots of friends at school or join an activity so witness kids are not his social circle.

  I was going irregularly to meetings up till quite recently and sitting in the back playing Plants VRS Zombies on my ipad. Plus I read CoC back there too. You can get any book and just look like you are following along now a days.

  i am not recommending meetings just saying with the new ipad blessing there are many ways of checking out while you are there.

  I feel the same way as you. I have been reading here for a long and it helped very much. sorry about your brother I don't know if this helps but they even do that bad association branding to thier own members within.

  Your never really safe from judgement in this organization. They recieve thier confidence and perceived blessing off the backs of other people. The faster you can kick someone who is down the more righteous bragging you have.

  I am working on trying not to be bitter but it is pretty hard. What made you decide to join now?

  Strangest Local Needs?!?!?!?!

  We had a local needs about not bringing up researched material from old WT into the new WT lessons. This was bc a sister brought up an article from a previous article on murmuring. She was making the point that the murmuring started because the widows were being excluded from receiving food and looked down on. The murmuring of the people reached the ears of the right people and it was fixed.

  So our elders were very mad at this comment. They made the point ALL murmuring is bad. The service committee to her right after meetingin the back room with her husband and yelled so loud we all heard. service group removed, pioneering removed and the woman was crying hysterically.

  i waited outside the door for the worst elder to storm out and I told him he was disgusting. He smiled and bowed his head to me.

  He is still the COBE.

  plus they added reviling an older man to my J.C.
